OpenAI, the publisher of the widely known ChatGPT program and GPT-4 Large Language Model (LLM) system has been rumored to unveil GPT-5 in late 2023. However, OpenAI Founder Sam Altman has officially gone on record stating that GPT-5 is not currently in training nor is it expected to release anytime soon.
